Ciclostile Architettura
Ciclostile Architettura born in Bologna in 2009 as a working group from the collaboration between Giacomo Beccari (1982), Gaia Calamosca (1981) and Alessandro Miti (1981) later established as a company in 2012. Ciclostile Architettura operates in the fields of architecture, urbanism, research and development giving particular attention to participatory planning, public space and building rehabilitation. Ciclostile Architettura gives lectures, participates in conferences and symposia in Italy and abroad. Has exhibited at MoMA (NYC USA), MAXXI, (Rome), XIV Biennale di Architettura (Venezia), Centre for Mediterranean Architecture (Chania GR), IX Urbanpromo (Bologna), Fuorisalone Designweek (Milan), Storefront for Art and Architecture (NYC USA), New Italian Blood (Salerno), Esprit Nouveau Pavilion (Bologna), PugliArch Festival (Bari), I Biennial of Public Space (Rome), Urban Center (Bologna). Ciclostile Architettura interprets and elaborates the changing needs of society looking for a sustainable and effective approach compared to the critical process of design and construction methods of reaching new architectural and urban organization. "Smallness" is the philosophy and the idea that has marked all projects of the office until now. "Smallness" means optimizing social and economic costs of design through the creative and innovative use of all resources involved in the process, materials, technologies, budget, time.
